Who is responsible

The controller for the personal data on this site is Data Torturing Solutions, a company registered in England and Wales, contactable at [email protected].

Data Torturing Solutions is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration ZC218139, verifiable on the ICO Data Protection Register.

Whose data is here, and why

This site names people in one capacity only: holders of public office at or accredited to the United Nations. Permanent representatives, Secretaries-General, and officials named in the public record of a body whose proceedings are published by design.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The interest is the public’s in an accurate, citable record of who represents whom at the United Nations. The processing is limited to professional information already published by the body those people serve, which is a narrower set than the sources themselves publish.

What is deliberately not collected

• Spouses and family members. The Blue Book lists them. We do not ingest them. They hold no office and the public interest that justifies naming a diplomat does not extend to their household.
• Private contact details. Residential addresses and personal telephone numbers are not collected even where a source publishes them.
• Anything about a private individual. If you are not a public office holder, you should not appear here at all.

The Security Council Consolidated List names people subject to sanctions. It is published by decision of the Security Council and is reproduced here as the public record it is. It is never joined to any other person-shaped dataset on this site, so that no profile can be assembled from a sanctions listing plus anything else we hold.

Your rights

You may ask for access to what is held about you, correction of anything inaccurate, erasure, or restriction of processing, and you may object to the processing entirely. Write to [email protected] or use the removal page.

A removal is checked on every subsequent ingest, not just applied to the current page. A removal that did not survive the next rebuild would not be a removal.

You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
